Oh I agree.... if it offers no additional functionality to the whole steup (which it most likely wont as it's just used as a backend when DVBLink is in play) then I wouldn't bother. When I wrote the last post I was having some stability issues tht I'm not even sure where related to DVBDream. I think I have since solved that issue, so DD 1.5 would likely have nothing to offer me....

Hey guys,

here is an update... I know you like them!

DVBLogic handed us the SDK for v2. As promised, DVBLink for DVBDream will get the first passage to the DVBLink framework v2 for the 1geek1tool products. However, next week I will release a new version of DVBLink for DVBDream that will only include 1geek1tool licensing system. Orders will move to paypal instead of shareit.

As soon as the new version is out, I will start working on porting the app to the v2 framework SDK.

I started the port to DVBLink SDK v2. There are many changes, so it will take a few days before I can play with it myself!

Hi Fred,

If you need any help with testing then don't hesitate in contacting me, I'd be willing to fully reinstall my HTPC from scratch to help in the testing.

Another update.

I have been having very little time to work on the upgrade lately and I apologize about that. I still manage to make a few hours a week but I am not progressing as fast as I would.

How about disconnecting tuners that are not in use, like TVsource. Or maybe just make it tune to a preview channel when not in use, to disconnect it from the server.

I downgraded to 1.4i DD also. It worked to copy the exe and guids.ini files from 1.4i over top of my working 1.5 beta 7 installation which had timed out. Then I turned off the update checks to stop that popup.

I second this.... I would really, really like to see this implemented i possible. Keeping the tuners blazing around the clock is tough on the whole set-up all around.

My and Mike already had this conversation previously.

As I answered before, the idea is interesting, but I have no control on DVBDream to stop its tuner from the API. So I would have to stop and start dvbdream from the DVBLink service, which is a problem since the service is running from the localsystem account, which does not have access to the desktop...

Fred, a workaround would be tuning DVBdream to a preview channel. The plugin automatically disconnects from the cardserver when it is on a preview channel. The user would have to specify a preview channel number (SID).

Or, if DVBlink tuned DVBdream to a dummy channel that does not exist that may be the easiest way. For example, if DVBdream changed to channel 1 when not in use. If not channel 1, then channel 0, or channel 1,000,000,000. This may also rest the tuner to conserve power and reduce heat.

By preview channel, do you mean those unscrambled channels that the providers includes in their lineup for which you don't need a subscription?
