Going back to DVBdream 1.4i

Postby realbigmike » Fri May 14, 2010 5:57 am

So now we know DD 1.5beta 7 had a hidden time bomb, and it timed out. I posted before that it is easy to revert back to 1.4i by simply pasting the DD exe file overtop of the 1.5beta 7 installation.

I have a problem though.

The BDA tuner I use does not work anymore. I cannot get the tuner to start, DD says "Offline Mode!" Anyone know if I have to add to add to the guids file? Or maybe change the BDA.dev file?

I tried the updated bda.dev file from the TVsource forum but it will not start, it errors:
ttBdaDrvApi_Dll.dll.dll is missing.

The tuner worked with DD 1.5b7 and it also worked with TVsource.
Any ideas?

So now it works, not really sure what did it.
I had downloaded all the missing .dll files and place them in the root folder. I replaced the bda file.

Then I had to reinstall 1.5 into a new folder. I copied only the 1.4 exe overtop and the guids file from 1.4. Then I copied over the transponders files and the plugins. I configured DD again (diseqc, etc) and it worked.

Not sure what did the trick but I think it had to do with:
1. running the updates bda.dev seemed to modify the registry
2. then installing dd fresh into a new folder

*shrug*

I had the same issue! Solved it by reselecting my Hauppauge as the TV card in DVB Dream:
(have the german version only, so hopefully english will match)
Einstellungen (Settings) -> DVB Karte (card)
Select BDA
Here at the bottom line DVB Link Tuner#1 was seletected, too!

At least now the unencrypted SD channels are working. I've expected the crypted HD also to work :-(

This sounds reasonyble to me: MCE -> DVB Link Tuner -> DVB Link Server -> DVB Bridge -> DVB Dream -> Hauppauge (not DVB Link Tuner again)
