So this morning I decided to look into this further.
Now I am finding that I am unable to record channel 279 (Discovery World HD). All 3 of my most recent failed recordings have been on this channel. I checked the log and found this:

I don't have a channel 229, and what is also interesting is the time the log entry is at, I have media center set to start recording 2 minutes before the show starts, so I am not sure why there was a request to change to a channel that is not listed in my guide almost 8 minutes early? Nobody was watching tv at this time, and only 1 show was scheduled to record on channel 279.

I should also note that my recording was scheduled to start at noon, there is no activity before noon, or even before the show was to start recording.
